NickerNetwork Launches Broadband Television Service
(1/22/2008)
Houston, Tx - Nicker Communications, LLC has launched its NickerNetwork broadband television service, quietly and without great fanfare.
"Nicker will now stand on its own," said Sally Lasater, founder and driving force behind the new company. "We wanted to have our beta test launch quietly and just get it out there. We've put up a small sampling of programming -- the FEI 2006 World Equestrian Games Reining Championships, a documentary on American Women in Horse Racing, training mules and foaling Fjords - and much more - just so people can start to get a feel for what we actually have created. This isn't just a television channel about horses - this is a distribution network featuring a wide selection of channels as diverse as our industry and targeted to a world market. There's going to be something for everyone and we want everybody to be involved."
Anchored by the single website, NickerNetwork.com, the on-demand broadband service allows viewers to watch for free (with embedded ads), download programs for later viewing, or buy a DVD of the actual programs.
Jim Matison, currently heading up the company's marketing and sales as well as industry relations, said, "What people don't really understand yet is that this is the least that Nicker will ever be - it's going to grow in all directions all at the same time, not only providing unsurpassed education and entertainment aimed at the horse world, but also becoming an archive of equestrian knowledge - giving back to the industry it serves. Nobody has even seen anything like this before."
Nicker Communications, LLC creates, produces, distributes and syndicates equestrian and horse-related video programming for IPTV and traditional television. It is also a direct-to-consumer retailer of horse-related electronic and print media, including but not limited to DVDs, books, software, games, art and other equestrian lifestyle consumer products. The Company's innovative electronic delivery system utilizes Internet-based technologies blended with traditional retail- to-consumer distribution methodologies.
